So what? That's ONLY R32.00 per citizen. Then again, if everyone of those 50 million citizens gave me only 5c (those worthless coins we throw away) I'd receive the tidy sum of R2.5 million! (How far won't that get the president (and me should I care to join him) on Kulula or 1Time?)

Ja, Henk, that's being naive - is South Africa now going to buy each new President a new plane, only R32-00 per citizen - citizens who don't have that money to spend on a new toy for the president - then there is the back-up plane - then the fuel for the two planes - then the crew for the planes - add that up every time he galavants abroad and we now get to a couple of hundred rand per citizen - people without houses, jobs, bread on the table. This remains wastefull - America can afford buying new planes for their president - but they don't - he must make use of the planes available.
