A few trophies Trumps Bredell's Cull for news coverage

NEWSWORTHINESS: A hunting expedition by the sons of American billionaire Donald Trump has captured headlines, while a scandalous cull - in which up to 900 000 caracals, leopards, jackals and other predators have been permitted to be killed - remains largely unreported.

The Bredell Cull (named after the DA local government minister of environmental affairs who authorised the killings), has been called the largest official cull in the history of Africa, and its exposure has come as an embarrassment to the DA provincial government, which stands accused of sacrificing the animals in return for farmers' votes.

DSBennie says:

These animals cause great damage to the farmers and through them the economy as it is very difficult to control these animals and regulations prevent farmers from doing anything about it to defend their stock

G Fourie says:

The truth is that human beings cannot carry on killing their way through problems just to meet their immediate needs. Human beings are supposed to be intelligent and therefore need to find ways to live on the planet in a sustainable way. Sommer slaughtering thousands upon thousands of animals with machine guns is frankly, enough, to turn the voters away. What the hell were the DA thinking?

DSBennie, it is common knowledge if you remove a predator another will come and take it's place and if you eradicate them all you upset the ecosystem and the place will be overrun by vermin like rats. Stupid stupid thing to do.
