Why did it have to be President Jacob Zuma? Does he deserves to be stripped of his dignity in such bad taste? It's really disrepectful, to say the least.

Jesus christ taught he who is without sin cast the first stone. we all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. why do we keep crucifying JZ. is it perharps that he reminds us of who we are ? does he perhaps remind us of what is in our own closets? that which we are trying so hard to hide? our own short coming however big or small they might be?. every action we (nation)take builds or hurt us all. this depiction of JZ hurts our image (RSA) , is this what we want our children to remember about our generation. We are writting our own history people. we have poverty, unemployement, youth dejection to name a few to overcome. lets us use our energy to build our nation and not destroy it. embarrassing JZ like this does nothing good for our nation.emabarrasing JZ like this does not speak to true freedom of expression.this type of action does not protect our democracy but rather makes it valnerable to extremistn now and in the future.

JZ is a common criminal who stole the leadership position in this country for his enrichment and avoiding JAIL time for theft/corruption. He deserves no respect - he deserves to rot in jail with the likes of Bob Mugabe.

The painting may be in bad taste, but one thing that must be remembered is that Zuma was already compromised, even if he did not get his day in court, and was not found guilty. The blame should be laid squarely on the shoulders of the SACP, COSATU and the ANCYL which made sure that Zuma ousted Mbeki, and left the road closed to any other contender at Polokwane. They put this compromised man into the position he is in and gave him enough space to make a fool of himself, and the nation as well. He is no Mandela, Tambo, Xuma or any other leader of the ANC as he is not of their stature. The aforementioned organisations knew that they were putting a puppet into this position and it has backfired grandly. To express outrage at a work of art that depicts this compromised man is a projection of what the leaders of the Tripartite Alliance actually see within themselves - self-serving, greedy, racist, corrupt and decadent. It depicts the level to which the ANC has sunk since Polokwane. For an artist to go so far as Murray has gone is an indication that he speaks for a much wider majority that what the ANC elites think.
