Africa Rates High in World Corruption Rankings
BOTSWANA AFRICA'S BEST PLACED, SOMALIA WORST IN WORLD.
Africa maintained its reputation for corruption in the latest World Corruption Rankings released by Transparency International recently.
No African country made it amongst the twenty least corrupt in the world, while Somalia has the dubious honour of being the world's most corrupt.
The majority of African countries can be found towards the dishonourable end of the index, ensuring lots of material for editorial cartoonists across the continent.

The least corrupt countries according to the Dec 2012 survey are: Denmark, Finland, New Zealand (all tied in first place), Sweden, Singapore, Switzerland with both Australia and Norway tied in 7th place.
Other notable rankings are: Germany (ranked 13th), UK (17th), USA (19th), France (22nd), Portugal (33rd), Brazil (69th), China (80th), India (94th), Russia (133rd).
The highest ranking (perceived to be least corrupt) African state is Botswana (ranked 30th), and Somalia is the lowest ranked in the world, in position 174. Here's the full list of African states, with their scores in brackets.
