This cartoon deals with the continuous corrective rape and brutal murders of gay women in this country, especially in impoverished communities where they are most vulnerable. There's a massive culture of violence towards women in this country and misogyny in general, which is why I decided to depict a lesbain couple as a target through the literal and figurative 'scope' of gender.
