Afrikaner Gothic

AFRIKANER GOTHIC: Jerm's bilingual cartoon is a clever parody on the famous 1930 American Gothic artwork by Grant Wood, which has been parodied by hundreds of cartoons and artworks through the years (see the original artwork and other parodies here).

In this very South African version, the farmer's wife wonders whether the new "Kiss the Boer" words to Malema's favourite song are intended tongue in cheek.

The farmer contorts his face at the thought: "SIS!" he says, "Without the tongue would be bad enough!"
