The African Union represented by former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, said the Zimbabwean presidential, parliamentary and local elections held on July 31 were a big improvement on the 2008 polls and voting was conducted in "an atmosphere devoid of violence, harassment and disturbances" resulting in what he called a peaceful, orderly and free and fair vote.
