The International Olympic Committee has announced that Tokyo has been awarded the hosting rights to the 2020 games, which will come as some relief to a country that has been preoccupied with the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Japan last hosted the games in 1964. Meanwhile, the country has lodged a complaint against French satirical paper Le Canard Enchaine for publishing a cartoon (below) linking the games and the disaster.

Le Canard Enchaine

The cartoon as it appeared in Le Canard Enchaine, shows extra-limbed sumo wrestlers in front of the Fukushima nuclear plant.
The TV commentator says: "Thanks to Fukushima, the Sumo wrestling event has become a new Olympic discipline".
