Following on from yesterday's dark and violent cartoon I have a choice:
* I can draw an unnecessarily darker and more violent cartoon which will result in a phone call from my editor asking whether or not I’m happy with my life.
* Or I can upset fine art purists by defacing a famous Michelangelo piece.
The latter seemed more fun.

JERM STATES HIS CASE against the public service strike, labelling the strikers as communists who are rudely declining the government's latest offer. If only the South African scenario were as clear cut as that, but as is often the case, the reality is weirder than the cartoon. In reality, the Communist Party has been unsupportive of the strike; apparently having exchanged their ideological allegiances for BMWs. The increased wage offer being touted by government is not what it seems either, as COSATU has pointed out, it now merely includes benefits which had already been agreed upon.
