ESCHERESQUE: American cartoonist Mike Keefe delivers a brilliant rendition of an MC Escher-styled cartoon to demonstrate the political gridlock in the US, where Democrats (the donkey) and Republicans (the elephant) cannot find a way to work together. It's a situation which is as unworkable as a one party state (such as ours) is, but instead of the infighting, the parties fight one another.
