Arguments for and against a Free Press
ARGUMENTS FOR AND AGAINST A FREE PRESS: ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu has come out against media freedom by suggesting that reporting of incidents of police brutality overstepped the mark. FRED MOUTON positions the spokesperson in the middle of the toilet saga (literally), and, employing the same logic, has the spokesperson saying that if the press were curbed this controversy would not have existed. On the other hand, what would he use to wipe with if there were no free press, one wonders?
