STRETCHING THE BUDGET: Fancy cars and limousines have become commonplace amongst civil servants from the President to small town councillors. TREK NET ponders all the better uses that the money used to buy, service and run these extravagant vehicles could be put to.

This cartoon is the 4000th to be loaded onto africartoons.com! In the year and a half since the website's relaunch we have increased the rate of uploads from a handful a week to about 300 a month; representing some 75% of all cartoons published in South African newspapers by all its leading cartoonists. The 5000th cartoon is expected to be uploaded in October this year. Our thanks to all participating cartoonists in making this site the success it is.
