SHOCKING ROBBERY: Eskom's Operation Khanyisa is a campaign targeting electricity thieves. 'The Power is in Your Hands' declares the power utility in its plea to customers to report electricity theft. But who is stealing from whom? Eskom have recently jacked up their rates dramatically (while continuing to subsidise the electricity used by big business and neighbouring countries). They have also seen fit to reward their executives with hefty bonuses. JERM's cartoon, toned down at the request of his editors, twists the operation's logo to suggest that it is Eskom's customers who are being robbed. By whom, he's not at liberty to say!
