PEDDLING BACKWARDS: The ANC has proposed a new version of the Protection of Information Bill (dubbed by the media as The Secrecy Bill) after a public outcry rejected the original. The latest version includes concessions made to appease the objectors, but a couple of contentious items were also snuck in: The banning of 'Information Peddling' and the inclusion of 'Business Secrets' have been regarded with suspicion by open governance advocates.
