WHAT PRICE A FATHER? No matter how corrupt the victim, the ramifications of the Bees Roux homicide plea are dizzying. Is it fair that wealthy murderers should be able to buy their freedom? And if so, how shall the price be fixed? Then there's the matter of the five-year sentence, suspended for five years, which adds insult to injury. Does this mean he is not allowed to brutally kill anyone for the next five years, after which he may enter into a similar plea bargain? It would seem that for Bees at least, 'bargain' is the operative word here.
