Hollow Victories in Iraq and Libya

HOLLOW VICTORIES: CHIP draws comparisons between the arrest (and eventual hanging) of Iraq's Saddam Hussein and the lynching of Libya's Muammar Gaddafi. Typically a precursor to more violence and death, the leadership hole that their disposal leaves is filled by corrupt opportunists and their international partners with little motivation for the establishment of a real democracy. For the people - whose cause was said to be helped by so called champions of democracy - the victories are hollow ones.
