FLASHBACK: Titanic Cartoon from 100 Years Ago
A CARTOON FROM 1912 AT THE TIME OF THE TITANIC'S SINKING. The disaster would give rise to a tradition of cartooning, probably unmatched by any other single event.

This 1912 cartoon by Fergus Kyle (1876-1941) is part of the Canadian Library of Archives (ref number LAC: 00107 under the MIKAN ID number 2921280) and was sourced from this page on Wikipedia.
This cartoon, titled "When Thoughts Turn to the Hereafter" by John T. McCutcheon, depicts the band playing on the deck of the sinking Titanic. It first appeared in Times Dispatch, Richmond, VA., on April 28, 1912. The cartoon is held by the Library of Virginia.
Beneath the title 'Over the Grave of the Brave' which continues below '...Who Died at Their Posts on the Titanic', this cartoon (by an unknown artist) first appeared in the Los Angeles Sunday Times on April 21, 1912 to salute the victims of the Titanic.
