Neil Armstrong
The day before the above cartoon was published, JERM posted the following lighter take, playing on the fact that two Armstrongs were featured in the day's headlines. This might be called an "arbituary" cartoon, as opposed to the "obituary" one, above.
After posting the above gag cartoon, JERM wrote: "I did, however, draw a more newspaper-friendly (and official) obituary, which will be published tomorrow. After all, the first person to have walked on the moon deserves a better sendoff.
