Death Taxi

THE BIG CHILL: MAMA TAXI breaks from their usual serving of humour to mark the horrific deaths of ten young schoolchildren, killed when their taxi shot a railway crossing and was hit by a train. Many readers wrote to the papers in which the strip is syndicated to complain about the strong content. Co-creator GAVIN THOMSON says he understands how people who have come to know the strip's light heartedness would be shocked by this particular episode, but he and writer DENI BROWN felt that such a tragedy involving a taxi on SA roads deserved the attention they gave it.
