Steve Hofmeyr Sings for ET
NOT ONE TO BE LEFT OUT, Afrikaans 'struggle' singer Steve Hofmeyr submerges himself deep into the k*k with a racist song in tribute to AWB leader Eugene Terre'Blanche, whom he refers to as his "Oom" (uncle). Hofmeyr says the song is in response to the "Shoot the Boer" song, sung by (amongst others) ANCYL leader Julius Malema. The Youth League has declined to comment, save to say that Hofmeyr is just seeking attention. Afriforum (who has taken Malema to the Equality Court on hate speech charges), has condemned Hofmeyr's use of the racially charged word in his song. MANGENA reckons that Hofmeyr's racism places him firmly in the toilet bowl that has become the battleground of South African politics.
