The DON'T JOKE! Road Show
DURBAN, STELLENBOSCH BOOK LAUNCHES A GREAT SUCCESS
The national roadshow to present the inaugural cartoon annual Don't Joke! The Year in Cartoons to regional audiences has helped ensure steady sales of the book which have necessitated a second printing just four months since it was first launched.
In Durban John Curtis and Nanda Soobben hosted a workshop and the book launch to packed houses as part of the Year of the Writer Festival (while Curtis' editing partner Andy Mason stayed at home to cycle the Cape Argus the following day). Alison Stephenson took the photos.

In Stellenbosch a smaller, but no less enthusiastic audience attended the regional book launch and a fascinating round table discussion was punctuated by contributions from cartoonists Brandan, Jerm, Zapiro, political commentator Terry Bell, Danish free speech activist Anders Jerichow, journalism honours students Vanessa Smeets, Renate Moolman and Robbie Millan (masters in illustration) and editors Mason and Curtis.
