JOIN OUR SMEAR CAMPAIGN!
It all began with a Rico statement, who was then followed by his peers in a protest against restrictions on Freedom of Expression. Zapiro has recently joined his corades with a bold declaration that the 'Pen is Mightier than the Spear'. And now the entire nation is being invited to join the Smear Campaign by the Mail & Guardian! AND DISMEMBERED
Brett Murray's controversial portrait of President Zuma With Unsheathed Genitalia has given rise to dozens of editorial cartoons since it was first exposed by City Press. Since then, the President, his family, his party and his government have conspired to place the story firmly on the front page by threatening legal action to have the painting removed and destroyed.

WHEN A JAPANESE FISHING TRAWLER washed up on one of Clifton's pristine beaches, many Capetonians seized the opportunity to visit it, and witness the numerous attempts to refloat the large boat and its cargo of tuna. Four Cape Town based cartoonists saw it as another opportunity (their first since the recent centenary of the Sinking of the Titanic), to draw a boat - if only they could work it into another relevant story. UNLESS YOU HAPPEN TO BE A CARTOONIST
Heavy taxation, increasing food costs, education fees, toll roads, and price hikes in electricity, water, rates weigh heavilly on the average South African. Fortunately, cartoonists are there to bring a lighter side to a heavy situation, as these cartoons will show.

[June 1966 - April 2012]
The former Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs has died after a long illness, and tributes from his political comrades and opponents have acknowledged his contribution towards the liberation of South Africa and his hard work in the field after that was achieved. But his mistakes were also noted, not least of all his propensity for extravagant trips at state expense (which would ultimately result in his being fired). True to form, it is this legacy that cartoonists will remember him by, as THIS COLLECTION attests.

THANKS FOR ALL THE 'TOONS!
JULIUS MALEMA has been something of a muse to newspaper cartoonists, and a constant source of material for their cartoons. Are we about to see the last of him? Not if the media can help it, because Juju - as we've all come to know him - can't be matched for the guaranteed drama, sound bite and controversy we've come to expect of him.
More…The People vs The Tolls
As the popular protest against toll roads heats up, the government seems more determined than ever to implement the further taxation of road users. We've gathered together a collection of cartoons to narrate the story as it unfolds.
